Mrs. Dorothy C. Pyland's Obituary
Dorothy C. Pyland, age 73, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Betty Clemmons; brother in-law, David Pyland; mother in-law Helen Pyland; father in-law, Lloyd Pyland; cousin, Jimbo Bennett. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Donald Pyland; step brother, Ronnie McKee (Linda); brother and sister in-law, Ken Curtis (Diana); niece, Tori Sloan; cousins, Kathy Burleson, Pat Roland (Bob), Janet Gibson (Bill) and a host of other cousins and extended family members. Dorothy worked for Steiner Liff for eight years and later on went to work for Metro Nashville Police as a records clerk where she retired after 14 years of service. Aside from her professional career she was involved in the Red Hat Society, Eastern Star, and was a member of Dalewood Baptist Church for 30 years. Giving to charity’s was very important to her and she always supported them when she could. In lieu customary floral tributes and to honor Dorothy, the family would like to request donations be made to the Nashville ASPCA or Dalewood Baptist Church.
Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Dalewood Baptist Church, 1586 McGavock Pk, Nashville, TN 37216. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 2 PM from the church sanctuary with Pastor Ryan Linkous leading the service. Additional visitation with the family will be held hour prior to services. Burial will be private at Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, a Nashville landmark since 1785 “Where Nashville Comes to Remember”
