Mrs. Dorothy Jean Slayman's Obituary
Dorothy Jean Slayman, age 78 of Madison, TN passed away December 2, 2013. Mrs. Slayman was born in Hickman County, TN on June 28, 1935 to Robert E. and Eunice Lee Gossett Armstrong.
She grew up in Hickman County and spent time living in Washington, D.C. during her childhood before returning to TN. She married Donald Ray Slayman and they began raising a family, one which will cherish their memories of her kind, giving spirit. She worked in sales with Dillard’s Department store and an excellent seamstress, she enjoyed sewing and quilting in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her son, Donald Ray (Susan) Slayman, II; daughter, Donna Bowers; brother, Bobby Armstrong; sisters, Margaret Fricault and Linda Benner; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 AM, Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
