Mr. Douglas Eugene Wood Sr.'s Obituary
Douglas Eugene Wood, Sr., age 77, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Gallatin, Tennessee. Douglas was born on May 8, 1942 in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Douglas was a loving Father and Grandfather and enjoyed family time. His loving and generous spirit will live on with the many lives he touched. He and his wife of 40 years enjoyed many years of boating on the Tennessee River with family and friends. He was an avid golfer in the days and enjoyed fishing in all bodies of water. Douglas recently moved from Florida after selling their business to come back home. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
His father, Roy Harding Wood and his son, Carl Brown, precede him in death. Douglas is survived by his wife of forty years, Donna (Spann) Wood; Mother, Elise Minchey Wood; sisters, Carolyn Sadler and Vickie Trebing; daughter, Wendie Beans (Brian); son, Douglas Eugene Wood, Jr.; son, Troy Wood (Laurie); son, Lance Wood; Grandchildren, Douglas Garrett Wood, Bradley Wood, Frederick Graham Wood, Matthew Park, Zachary Park, Nicholas Park, Madison Wood, Gabriella Park, McKenna Wood and Spencer Wood. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive him.
A celebration of life service held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 12:30 pm at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 4 pm until 8 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home with an additional visitation on Tuesday from 11:30 am until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
