Mr. E. Wayne Taylor's Obituary
Elbert “Wayne” Taylor, 91, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Born May 30, 1931 in Old Hickory, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Eugene Taylor and Dorothy Lucille Byrd Taylor.
Wayne was a native of Old Hickory. He graduated from DuPont High School in the class of 1950 and retired from the DuPont Co. after 25 years of faithful service. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Wayne loved to golf and was a longtime member of Old Hickory Country Club. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family will remember him as someone who never met a stranger, a man who loved life and a character with a wonderful sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Faye Taylor Woosley and brother Bobby Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Taylor: daughters Vicki Taylor Bailey and her husband Curt, and Teri Lee Taylor; grandchildren Kelsey (Dylan) Potter, Paige (Bryan) James, and Nick Bailey; great grandchildren Tripp Potter, Luci Potter, and Hudson James; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 11 at Spring Hill Funeral home from 11 AM until 1PM. A graveside service will be held for family and close friends at 1 PM in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
