Mr. Earl Thomas Corbitt's Obituary
Mr. Earl Thomas Corbitt, age 84, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Nashville to his eternal home in Heaven. Earl was born to Edgar Wright and Mary E. (Faulkner) Corbitt in Davidson County on August 5, 1934.
Earl proudly served in the United States Navy from 1952-1956 as a SN (Seaman) during the Korean War aboard the USS Carp (SS-338).
Earl retired after 45 years of service in the printing industry as a pressman for Curley, Williams, and McQuiddy and was the former pastor for Whitley Memorial Baptist Church, Nashville, TN.
Earl is survived by his loving wife Susie (Simpkins) Corbitt, daughters Mary S. Jenkins (Steve) Antioch, TN, Cherre E. Bowen (Chris) Smyrna, TN; son John T. Corbitt (Shelby) Bradenton FL, 4 grandsons Steven Jenkins (Sarah), Aaron Corbitt, Justin Corbitt, David Bass Jr. (Tanya); 1 granddaughter Kristina Wojtkowski (Steven), 3 great-grandsons; Carson, Connor, Cooper Jenkins, 4 great-granddaughters; Gisella, Brielle Corbitt, Elsie, Amelia Wojtkowski and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edgar Jr., Samuel, William, Bobby, and great-grandson Braden Jenkins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 10th from 11:00am-1:00pm at Whitley Memorial Baptist Church 84, Peachtree Street, Nashville. Services will begin at 1:00pm at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Wounded Warrior Project, The American Legion, AMVETS.
