Mr. Earl E. Etter's Obituary
Mr. Earl E. Etter, age 88, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Earl was born to William Henry and Francis (Brown) Etter on May 30, 1930 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Earl served his country in the US Army during the Korea Conflict. He then worked for the United States Postal Service for 37 years. In addition, he was the Cantor at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for over 37 years. Earl enjoyed an active retirement travelling with his beloved wife of 64 years.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents; brothers William, Richard, and Robert and his sister Mary Catherine Williams. He is survived by his wife Aileene (Atkisson) Etter, son Christopher Mark Etter, and daughters Angela Etter and Rita Etter. In addition, he is survived by granddaughter Michelle (Jonathan) Brinson and great-grandchildren Christina and Andrew Brinson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 4-8pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm in the Chapel at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Madison. Burial with military honors will be held at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Music Ministry, 1225 Gallatin Rd., Madison, TN 37115 or to Alive Hospice 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
