Edgar Dyer Jr.'s Obituary
DYER JR, Edgar, passed away September 27, 2010 at age 81. He was a member of Shelby Ave. Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edgar Sr. and Lillie P. Dyer; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine C. Dyer of 58 years; one daughter, Juanna D. Lambert (Tommy); one granddaughter, Shelly Ray Slater; and one great-grandson, Ethan C. Slater; two step-grandchildren, Timmy Lambert (Stephanie) and Tabitha Lambert; 5 step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Dyer of Centerville, TN and Joe Dyer of Arizona; three sisters, Christine Taylor of Newbern,TN, Virginia Nash of Waverly, TN and Lorene Stewart of Waverly, TN ; sister-in-law, Dorothy C. Scroggins; and special niece, Vickie Hurley (Richard). Mr. Dyer worked for TVA for 38 years and was a member of the IBEW Union Local 429 for many years. The family would like to thank his wonderful doctors Louis Johnson and Robert Sewell, as well as their staff; many healthcare nurses that took care of him- David, Janet, Dee, Brenda, and many more. Services are Thursday September 30, 2010 at Noon at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Clay Faircloth and Bro. Gene Faint officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday September 29, 2010 from 3-8PM and Thursday from 10AM-Noon at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow services in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery where family and friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Woodard, John Engle, Charles Gilbert and Tony Fraley.
