Mr. Edgar "Ed" Wright III's Obituary
Mr. Edgar “Ed” Alexander Wright III, age 90 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 6, 1932 to the late Alex and Rachel Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Andy Wright and sister Rachel Bell. He is survived by loving wife Evelyn Wright, sons Todd and David Wright, and friend Layton Gossage, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ed graduated from East Nashville High School, and then earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Vanderbilt. Shortly after graduating from Vanderbilt, he married his sweetheart Evelyn McIntyre and served his country in the United States Army for two years. Ed then went on to work for Cokesbury United Methodist Publishing House for 33 years. He was a kind person and loving devoted husband and father. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed visiting the library and reading.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Ed’s memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
A Graveside service will be held in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 11am with the family receiving visitors at Spring Hill Funeral Home one hour prior.
