Edith Green Weddington's Obituary
WEDDINGTON, Edith Green, age 77, of Madison, was born March 20, 1932 and passed away Monday, May 18, 2009. Mrs. Weddington retired from NES as an Energy Adviser. While there she served as a spokesperson for the Nashville Chamber of Commerce and received many accolades associated with her work increasing the Chambers membership. She was a member of the Jackson Park Church of Christ and later attended services with her friends and neighbors at the Maybelle Carter Senior Adult Community. Mrs. Weddington was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil B. Weddington; parents, James G. and Laura S. Green; and sisters, Doris Earle and Nina Key. She is survived by her daughter, Dee A. Wallace of Memphis; son and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Kim Wallace of Dickson; grandson, Joshua Wallace of Murfreesboro; brother, James G. Green of Chattanooga; and sisters, Betty Hirschi of Elverta, CA, Alma Wiltfang of Greer, SC, Judy Bagwell of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Mary Griffith of Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Wednesday and again from 10-11am Thursday at the Spring Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jim Olive officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle TN State Veterans Cemetery.
