Dr. Edward I. Isibor's Obituary
Dr. Edward I. Isibor, age 78, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016. Edward was born on June 9, 1938, in Nigeria, to Joseph and Obeobadiaru Isibor.
Dr. Isibor received his B.S. from Howard University, M.S. from M.I.T. and PhD from Purdue University. He taught as a Professor of Engineering at Cleveland State University and Florida International University for years. He served as Dean of Engineering at TSU and professor for several years before his retirement. He was a philanthropist and an active civil servant.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Vincent Isibor and his sister, Edith Usenbor.
Dr. Isibor is survived by his daughter, Emwanta and husband, Joe Wood; son, Eki Isibor; mother of his children, Edwina Smith; four grandchildren, Imani Cruz, Gabby Cruz, Christian Cole, and Jossie Wood; one great grandchild, Greyson Cole. He is also survived by a host of friends and colleagues.
Services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the First Apostolic Church, 265 Broadmoor Drive Nashville, Tennessee 37207, beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Interment will be private in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
