Edwin Mark Brown's Obituary
We, his family, share that Edwin “Mark” Brown passed in Nashville, TN on February 10th, 2026, after a brief illness. Born in Medulla, FL on March 9th, 1938, he spent his life as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mark’s happiest hours were the simple ones—jigsaw puzzles spread across the table with his grandchildren and holiday meals where he sampled every dish his family cooked. Napping in his recliner while watching either Fox News or a western movie he’d seen a hundred times was his favorite past time in his retirement years. Mark also enjoyed the outdoors where he took pride in cutting straight lines in the grass with his mower. He especially loved feeding his wild animals who had come to trust him and would often surround him in the yard. Not a day went by that he didn’t feed the catfish, geese, hummingbirds, deer, squirrels, and ducks that visited the pond. During his career, he was a hardworking store manager with H. G. Hills grocery stores in the Nashville area. Determined, honest, loyal, and supportive, he led by example and never asked more of anyone than he gave himself. He worshiped with his family at First Baptist Church Joelton, later enjoying online services when gathering in person became difficult. Mark loved a good prank—so long as he set it in motion. Family get-togethers, good food, and time together were all he ever wanted. We will carry forward his steady care for family, his hardworking spirit, and the memory of quiet evenings watching wildlife from the porch. We love you, Pawpaw, and we’ll keep your seat at the table in our hearts. Those who have passed on before him are parents Leo and Frances Brown and several siblings. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 63 years, Deanie Brown; son, Gary (Susan) Brown and daughter, Leigh Anne (Andy) Harrell; grandchildren, Alan (Holly) Brown, Jeremy (Morgan) Brown, Sam (Sabrina) Harrell, Shelly (Colby) Wisdom, Abbey (Jonathon) Adams, Jayla Brown; great grandchildren, Audrina, Hayden, Kendric, Garrett, Natalie, Jon-Lee, and Andrew; bonus grandchildren, Kelton and Brittany; brother Joe (Ann) Brown, and many nieces and nephews.
