Mrs. Eileen Skinner's Obituary
Mrs. Eileen Skinner, age 88 of Brentwood, Tennessee passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023. She was born on August 28, 1934 in Bedford, Iowa to the late Hermon and Opal Wise. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Skinner and grandson Ryan Skinner. She is survived by her daughter Geri Ann Mashburn (Chuck) and son Jeffrey “Jeff” Dean Skinner (Rita), grandchildren Shelby Crawford (Matt), Riley Mashburn, and Jill Arnold (Stephen), great-grandchildren Copeland and Willa Eileen Crawford, Isabelle Ryan and Jack Arnold, and one on the way. She is also survived by her beloved Collie, Lassie.
Eileen was always up for anything and lived the most generous life. Because of that, she and her family enjoyed countless hours of chai tea lattes, shopping therapy, and endless sunshine. She and her beloved husband Gerald showed their children the world and showed them how to live a life with eyes on Jesus. She was a fantastic Grandma to her grandchildren, and spent years in a folding chair at the ball parks cheering them on. She poured into their lives and will leave a legacy that impacts generations. She had a keen way of always being present without being intrusive, and she had the most gentle honesty to steer those she loved on the right path. Her sense of style was always so impressive and she had an eye for impeccable fashion.
The last three years, she has endured extensive pain with grace. While her family and friends rejoice for her walking into the arms of Jesus and reuniting with Gerald and other loved ones in Eternity, we are sad to have lost a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was dearly loved by all who knew her, and she will be missed immensely.
The family of Mrs. Eileen Skinner invite relatives and friends to join them in a time of Visitation and Remembrance on what would have been her 89th Birthday, Monday August 28, 2023 at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene from 10am until her Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 12pm. Mrs. Skinner will be laid to rest privately in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery has been entrusted with the final care of Mrs. Skinner. 5110 Gallatin Pike South, Nashville, Tennessee 37216. (615) 855-1101. “Where Nashville Comes to Remember.”
