Mrs. Elaine Colbert's Obituary
Elaine Colbert, Age 94, of Madison, TN died on September 5, 2020. She was born on March 15, 1926 in Nashville, TN the daughter of John and Ava (Vann) Lawrence both of whom preceded her in death.
Elaine was a member of Dalewood United Methodist Church and was the oldest active member of the Old Hickory Country Club. She loved her late husband Bill, adored her children, and doted on her grandchildren. She moved gracefully among people in all walks of life. She loved to entertain, and her vibrant personality drew others to her. Elaine and Bill shared the best years of their life together. Elaine loved her family, and Bill’s family became hers. Elaine “cracked the code” to living a long, happy and fruitful life. She was petite in stature, but she lived life in a large and unforgettable way.
She is survived by her daughter Debbie Lynn (Foster); son John Edwards; Bill’s sons Rick Colbert (Wanda), Bill Colbert (Virginia), Don Colbert and Carl Colbert (Karen); brothers John Lawrence and Harry Lawrence; grandson Jonathan; and Bill’s grandchildren Todd, Christopher, Ty, Tonya, Regen, Logan, Erin, Brett, Ryan, Corrine and Peter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Colbert and Bill’s son Douglas Colbert.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery at 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216 from 10-11:30 AM. Funeral service will be held immediately following at 11:30 AM in the Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will take in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
