Ms. Eleanor Hardy Burrow's Obituary
Beloved daughter of John Nathan Hardy and Ozella Moore Hardy passed away at the age 97, on March 23, 2018.
Preceded in death by her parents, and husband Dudley Burrow. Survived by numerous cousins. Ms. Burrow, a lifetime educator in the Metro Nashville Public School System, graduated from Trevecca Demonstration School (8th grade), Trevecca High School, and Trevecca Nazarene University in 1939.
Four members of Ms. Eleanor’s family served Trevecca Nazarene University, Chester E. Hardy, M.D., Ms. Burrow’s uncle, became president of Trevecca following the death of its founder, J.O. McClurkan, and served three different terms as president, 1915-1919, 1920-1925, and 1928-1936. Nathan and Ozella Hardy, Ms. Burrow’s parents, managed Trevecca’s farm, which employed students and supplied food to the school. Ms. Eleanor was a loyal alumnus of Trevecca and member of First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville.
Family will receive friends for a time of visitation and remembrance at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 12-2pm with a graveside service in Spring Hill Cemetery to follow at 2pm with Rev. Dr. Kevin Ulmet and Rev. Jack Galloway officiating.
