Ms. Elizabeth Mae Brooks' Obituary
Elizabeth Mae Brooks, age 89, passed away on October 11, 2019 in Nashville, TN. She was born May 29, 1930 the daughter of Cuthbert and Winona (Reed) Herter both whom preceded her in death.
Elizabeth married Edward V. Brooks on February 13, 1949, he preceded her in death.
Elizabeth was a woman of many talents; she was a master gardener and loved tending to the things that she grew. After her children were older she went back to school to get a Master’s Degree in Education and later became an elementary school teacher. She was also an extremely talented artist and loved to paint in the free time that she had. Elizabeth had a gift for hospitality, whether it was having family over for the holidays or the occasional drop by for a visit. She made quilts, homemade treats and kept a beautiful home for her family.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Betsy Caldwell, sons Greg E. Brooks and Jon A. Brooks, grandchildren Isaac Brooks, Israel Brooks, Abigail Branson, John M. Caldwell, Elisha B. Caldwell, Wood B.S. Caldwell, Matthew Brooks, Jenny Brooks, Daisy Brooks and Molly brooks. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother Richard Herter. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Louise Myers and Garnet Randall.
Inurnment will take place at 10 AM Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. A memorial gathering will follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM.
