Elizabeth Marlene Hoppe's Obituary
Elizabeth Marlene Hoppe (Mama Hoppe) went to be with the Lord on March 4th, 2023. She was born on March 20th, 1923, to the late William Anthony Mingle and Bonnie Elizabeth Mingle. She was born in Auburntown, TN and Marlene graduated from Bellevue High school and married the love of her life Ward Foster right after graduation.
Marlene was a devoted Christian and was an active member of Inglewood Baptist Church.
Marlene worked for many years at the downtown Harvey’s, and then worked at General Hospital until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Ward Foster; her two sons Howell Wayne Foster (Linda) and Richard Anthony Hoppe (Teresa); grandson Anthony Hoppe, brother William Eugene Mingle (Helen); and two sisters Mattie Katherine and Georgia Dale, who died at an early age.
Marlene is survived by her son Jimmy Russell Foster (LaVergne); brothers Robert H. Mingle (Mary) and Charles Hutton Mingle (Becky); grandchildren David Edward Nichols, Brandy Foster Sirles, Laurie Ellen Green (Will), Carrie Markos, Justin Hoppe (Brittany), Jeremy Hoppe (Stephanie), and Nikki Foster; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews she loved as her own.
Marlene was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive guests for visitation at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Sunday, March 12th, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Monday, March 13th, 2023 from 10:00 Am to 12:00 PM. A chapel service at Spring Hill Funeral Home will take place on Monday, March 13th, 2023 at 12:00 PM, with burial to follow at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Dr. Kevin Shrum will be officiating the services.
