Mrs. Elizabeth L. Lankford's Obituary
Elizabeth Lucille Lankford, age 91, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. She was born on April 16, 1928 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Buford and Pauline Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Larry K. Lankford, Sr., her son Larry K. Lankford, Jr., her daughter Patti McNeal, her sister Sue Blackwell (Donald), and her brother Bobbie Williams (Evelyn). She is survived by her daughters Judy Alcorn, Linda Woodward (Bill), her son Edward Lankford (Brenda), her daughter-in-law Karen Lankford, and her 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth lived her 91 years to the absolute fullest. She spent her younger years raising her five children, who were her pride and joy. When she had a moment of spare time during those years, she enjoyed quilting and sewing. Later on in life she began to pick up reading as a hobby as well. She loved dogs, and raised Dachshunds for a while. She also very much enjoyed going on motorcycle trips with her husband, her son Larry, and her daughter-in-law Karen. Elizabeth had a fiery spirit, and she will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Bethel Primitive Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
A visitation for Mrs. Lankford will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 2-6pm, and again on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 9-10am, with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service beginning at 10am with Brother Ronald Lawrence officiating. Burial in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery will follow. Spring Hill Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final care of Mrs. Lankford. 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee 37216.
