Mrs. Elizabeth "Liz" Kittrell Hickey's Obituary
Elizabeth "Liz" Kittrell Hickey age 88 of Nashville passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014. She was born in Riddleton, TN on May 5, 1926.
She was a long time member of the Dalewood Baptist Church, a graduate of Smith County High School and Draughn’s Business College. She had been employed by the Baptist Sunday School Board and retired from the Stewardship Commission of the SBC.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles L. and Elizabeth Bowman Kittrell; brothers, James Kittrell and Charles Miller Kittrell.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Glen S. Hickey; daughter, Beth Hickey; sisters, Robbie (Raymond) Hendrick and Mary (Luther) Jarvis; nieces and nephews, Lee Ann Judd, Jane Mace, Ann McCarthy, Carol Britt, John Jarvis, Bobby Agee and Larry Young. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Her family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5 at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Her Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Castleberry and Rev. Paul Wampler officiating. Interment will be in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dalewood Baptist Church or the Gideon’s.
