Ms. Elizabeth Ann Morgan's Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Morgan, age 81 of Smyrna, Tennessee passed away on Saturday May 25, 2019. She is preceded by her parents L.C. and Maggie Lena Townes. She is survived by her son DeMarco Morgan and his fiancé Cole Spencer, her cousin Reverend Fred Ford, John Nelson – who she loved like a son, and her dearest friend Millie Burney .
Elizabeth was born in Huntington, Tennessee on April 17th, 1938. She followed in her mother’s footsteps and decided to become a teacher. After graduating high school she went on to Tennessee State University for her undergraduate studies and earned her Bachelor Degree. While at TSU, Elizabeth was member the Women’s Basketball Team, as well as a majorette in the Marching Band. While there she met and married Reginald Morgan on September 12th, 1975. On February 8th, 1971 she gave birth to her pride and joy, DeMarco. She was also very passionate about her career and she taught high school for a number of years. She was Board Certified by the Tennessee Department of Education in 1962 in Business Education. She retired from teaching in 1995. Upon her retirement, Elizabeth began devoting her time to volunteer work at Stonecrest, which she enjoyed immensely. Elizabeth was one of the most kindhearted and generous people you could ever meet. She had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus and she was a very devout Christian. She loved travel, the Dallas Cowboys, and music – especially gospel and old school R&B. She was also a major supporter of and donor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and her family encourages all those who would like to, to please donate to St. Jude’s in Elizabeth’s memory,
A visitation for Ms. Morgan will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from noon to 2pm, with services in the Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 2pm.
