Mrs. Ella Ernestine Smith Hilley's Obituary
Ella Ernestine Smith Hilley, 99, of Clemson, South Carolina, (formerly of Madison, Tennessee) passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Born October 1921, she was the daughter of the late John A. Coleman and Emma Coleman.
Ernestine grew up in the Dayton, Tennessee area during the depression. She was a longtime member of Inglewood Baptist Church where she was a lifetime member of the Friendship Sunday School class and participated in various ministries of the church. She was also proud to be past president Nashville Legal Secretaries Assoc. and an Honorary Life Member of the N.A.L.S. – National Association of Legal Professionals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Clarence W. Smith and James A. Hilley; brother William Coleman; sisters Wilma Coleman Cawood and Bessie Mae Coleman Hilley.
She is survived by 3 nephews and 2 nieces.
