Mr. Elmer Whitby's Obituary
Elmer Whitby, age 85, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Born in Pulaski, Tennessee, Elmer is preceded in death by his parents Polk Whitby and Willie Burks. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Diane Whitby; three daughters, Cynthia Harris (Michael), Phyllis Snyder, Teresa Weston; one son, Rickey Turner (Demetria); ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Elmer enjoyed the simple things in life, fishing, watching NASCAR, mowing grass with his zero turn mower, and was considered a hard working man all his life. He was fun to be around and never met a stranger. He also enjoyed dancing, and was easily considered to be the best daddy in the world. Visitation for Elmer will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 1 pm until 8 pm, and again on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 12 pm until 2 pm at which time a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted from the chapel at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers.
