Elsie Lee Harvey Brown's Obituary
Elsie Lee Harvey Brown, 102, of Nashville passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
Elsie has traveled all over with her now deceased husband, Joe. They lived in The Panama Canal Zone for 11 years, then traveled back to the states to live in Deltona, Fl. There they had many wonderful neighbors and they loved it there. They moved back to Nashville and Elsie resided at Sycamores Terrace Apartments for the last 22 years. Elsie was very proud of her service during WWII. She called herself Elsie the Riveter while she worked at Avco.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brown; Parents, Claude and Emma Mae Brown; Sister, Elizabeth Hibbs Rice (George); and Brother, James Maurice Hibbs (Jean) and beloved and devoted nephew, Larry Wayne Rice.
Elsie is survived by two very devoted nieces, Mitzi Lee Rice Coleman (John), and Jannifer Whorley Rice Cron (Pat), also four great nieces and nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews and many friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 27th at eleven o'clock in the morning at the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Pike, in Nashville. There will be a brief visitation at Spring Hill Funeral Home from ten o'clock in the morning until ten forty-five in the morning followed by a processional to the graveside service. Everyone that wants to attend the graveside needs to meet at Spring Hill Funeral Home by ten thirty in the morning. Paul Rasmussen (one of her dear friends from Florida) will be officiating.
