Emma Jean Moore's Obituary
Emma Jean Moore passed away June 11, 2024, just shy of her 88th birthday. She was a dear sister and friend to all.
She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1936 to Mildred Jean Myatt and George Wesley Myatt and lived her youth in East Nashville. She graduated from East Nashville High School and worked for National Life and Accident Insurance Company for 14 years. She was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi International, an organization for business female leaders.
Her married life took her to Ocala, Florida, where she worked tirelessly as the “right hand man” for two separate lawyers for 43 years. Upon retirement, she volunteered with the Ocala/Marion County Visitor and Convention Bureau. Ms. Moore was a hard-working woman both professionally and at home helping with horses they raised and raced and numerous animals they rescued. She loved her Nashville visits, visiting with lifelong friends and eating family meals, especially in Huntsville, Alabama with her beloved Aunt Frances and Uncle Hulan (Smith).
Her later years were spent in the Nashville area. She will be profoundly missed by her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Gary Miller. She will be forever in our hearts for her deep love of family and the laughs we shared.
Ms. Moore is predeceased, along with her parents, by her husband of 54 years, Joseph B. Moore, her brother, G. Wesley Myatt, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Debbie Myatt Miller (Gary), stepson, Boone Moore (Amy) of Fort Myers, Florida, step granddaughter, Bree Moore of Fort Myers, Florida, sister-in-law, Faye Swindle Myatt, caring, loving niece, Trish Myatt, genuinely kind and witty nephew, Trey Myatt (Jamie) and lifelong friend, Janice Dotson.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11:00 am where her remains will be interred in the historic Spring Hill Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Rd. Guest shall gather prior in front lobby of funeral home.
