Mrs. Emmy Keith Frost's Obituary
Emmy Keith Frost, age 89 of Nashville, passed away April 11, 2013. Mrs. Frost was born July 26, 1923 to Walter and Josephine Keith.
She graduated from Hillsboro High School where she played point guard in basketball and was also a member of the SAP sorority. She enjoyed sports throughout her life especially as a young girl, riding her horse, Thumper, with her sisters. She was also an avid tennis player, and on occasion would remind her late husband, Hamilton, that her trophies were larger. Mrs. Frost and her late husband loved entertaining and especially enjoyed hosting the “cook out crowd”. She was a consummate volunteer throughout her life where her love of people made her a stranger to no one. More than the love of volunteering, she loved her family and adored family gatherings. She served as President of the Women’s Auxiliary at St. Thomas Hospital where she volunteered for over 30 years. She was a long-time member of the Junior League of Nashville, BrookeMeade Garden Club, Belle Meade Country Club and First Presbyterian Church of Nashville. Her love for her family, her zest for life and her gentle soul will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary McCullough Keith; twin sister, Frances Keith Berson; brother, Walter Keith, III and beloved husband, Hamilton. She is survived by her son, Hamilton (Vickie) Frost, Jr.; daughter, Emmy (Doug) Frost Phillips; granddaughters, Erica (James) Phillips and Dianne Frost (Eric) Rosenberry; great-granddaughters, Caitlyn Phillips and Isabella Frost Phillips and great-grandson, Grayson Phillips, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Mrs. Frost’s life will be conducted at 1 P.M., Monday, April 15, 2013 from the First Presbyterian Church of Nashville with Dr. Todd Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with relatives serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until the time of service, Monday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
