Eric B. Dahlhauser Dies
Eric B. Dahlhauser, who had an immeasurable impact on the lives of his family and friends, died suddenly at his home in Goodlettsville, TN on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Eric who was 56 years old, will forever be known for his optimistic outlook, his kindness in supporting others through good and tough times, his contagious personality and his unmistakable laugh. Eric loved life, his family and friends and always put others before himself.
Eric is survived by his parents, Margaret and Arthur Dahlhauser; Nancy Dahlhauser, his wife of 35 years; his children Jennifer Knoll, Andrew Dahlhauser and Lauren (Benjamin) Heisler, and 5 grandchildren. Additionally, Eric is survived by his godchildren, Saranna (Richie) Cherry, Jeremy Ratte and Jacob Green and his siblings, Greg Dahlhauser (Terri), Julie Dahlhauser (sister-in-law), Deb Williams (James), Mary Dahlhauser, Steven Dahlhauser (Rhonda), Bryan Dahlhauser, Tom Dahlhauser, and Paul Dahlhauser (Glenda). Eric was preceded in death by his brothers, Kevin and Douglas Dahlhauser.
Born in Schenectady, New York on August 20, 1962, Eric was a graduate of Father Ryan High School in 1980, attended Saint Ambrose College in Iowa and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He was a Certified Public Accountant, formerly serving as a founding partner with the firm of Carter, Young, Wolf and Dahlhauser.
Eric was a founder and CEO of Insight Genetics in Nashville, TN and was dedicated to improving the lives of cancer patients around the world through advanced diagnostics for precision cancer care.
A die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, Eric hung the “W” flag after every win. He annually attended numerous games at Wrigley Field with family and also his dad, Art, with whom he shared this passion. One of his best experiences was watching the Cubs finally win the World Series with his elderly father. It was a wonderful, tearful moment for the both of them. He was also a Tennessee Titan fan, and loved watching videos of his great-nephew, Hank, run with the Titans flag before the start of each game for good luck.
A visitation is scheduled for 3-6 p.m. on Monday, January 28 at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Madison, TN. A “Celebration of Life” will follow at the home of Eric and Nancy Dahlhauser from 6:30-9 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a man who values family and friends above all else.
