Ernest Jackson Porter III's Obituary
Ernest Jackson Porter III, 62, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. Born February 27, 1960, in Beaufort, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Ernest Jackson Porter, Jr. and Zida Eloise Mitchell Porter.
Mr. Porter served his country proudly in the United States Marines as a member of the VMFA 0451 in the ordinance detail. He was a lineman for Sumter Electric CoOp in Central Florida and IMC AgriCo Phosphate. He will be remembered as a man who liked to go fishing, tend a garden, cook/bake, and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his companion Sheila Piper; daughter Meagan Porter and her mother Lisa Porter; sister Ellen Jane Odom; half brother Donald Beaver.
Visitation will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville on Wednesday, October 19, from 10 am until 12 pm. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service be at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
