Mrs. Eunice Elizabeth May's Obituary
Eunice Elizabeth Magoon May was a remarkably vibrant and passionate lady. She was positive, warm and loving to everyone around her. Her happy, contagious personality brought joy to all. She loved everyone and was loved and respected by those who knew her. Eunice, age 99 was born on April 18, 1917 in St Petersburg, Florida and passed away at home with family by her side on June 2, 2016, Madison, Tennessee. She was a faithful Christian woman and member of Madison Campus Seventh-day Adventist Church. Her life’s work consisted of many roles including Pastor’s wife, Mother, Registered Nurse and Registered Physical Therapist. She was active in Community Services, helping people in need and teaching others Emergency and Disaster Preparedness. Before retirement she served as Director of the Community Services Federation for the Kentucky Tennessee Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. Her spirit of dedication and sacrifice reflected her servant-heart, her love for God and her concern for her fellowman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Laura Magoon, her loving husband and companion of 67 years, Pastor Luther May and one brother, David Magoon. She is survived by three daughters whom she lovingly referred to as ”her precious girls”; Sharrie May, Madison, TN, Bonnie Phillips and husband, Lanny, Madison, TN, and Judy Trigg and husband, Bruce, Powell, TN. She is also survived by six grandchildren who adored her; Kurtis Ewell, Shonna Widuch, Jennifer Phillips, Kristopher Phillips, Eric Trigg and Pam Benedict and seven great grandchildren with one on the way. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as so very many friends. She will be greatly missed. Services will be Monday, June 6, 2016 at 2 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home Chapel, 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216 with Dr. Steve Haley officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 5-8 pm and Monday 1 pm to Service time.
