Mrs. Evelyn C. Evans' Obituary
Evelyn C. Evans, age 91, of Madison, passed away on December 20, 2013. Mrs. Evans was born in Nashville on January 5, 1922 to the late William Clyde Wright and Ora Marie Haralson Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband of over sixty years, Robert B. Evans; infant daughter, Elaine Marie Evans; brother, Wilton (Louise) Wright; and sister-in-law, Earlyne Wright . Mrs. Evans was a charter member of Northside Church of Christ and a member of Lischey Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Evans loved traveling and shopping; but, most of all, she loved spending time with her grandkids. Mrs. Evans is survived by her son, Clyde Wayne Evans, Sr.; brother, Wilbur (Beverly) Wright; grandson, Wayne “Turtle” (Amy) Evans; grand-daughter, Gina (Jimmy, Jr.) Gilley; great-grandsons, Dalen Evans and Jimmy (Michelle) Gilley III; great-granddaughter, Jennifer Holder; great-great-grandchildren, Kelsie Holder, Madyson Holder, Miley Gilley, Kaylee Gilley, and Logan Neufeld; as well as loving family friends, George and Ginny Aust, and Kent and Debra Adair. A ceremony to celebrate the life of Mrs. Evans will be held on Tuesday, December 24th at 11AM, from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home, with Leslie Chapman officiating. Interment shall follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 23rd, from 4PM until 8PM, and on Tuesday, from 9AM until the time of service. Pallbearers shall include Dalen Evans, Jimmy Gilley III, Mark Wright, Terry Woodson, George Aust, and Danny Gentry. Honorary pallbearers shall include Wilbur Wright and Alan McCloud. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Golden Age Scholarship Fund at Northside Church of Christ. Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home, Nashville.
