Mr. Ewing "Polly" Collier's Obituary
Ewing “Polly” N. Collier, age 91 of Madison, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 22, 1927 to the late Thomas and Janie Collier. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Gladys “Irene” Collier, his brothers Thomas and Joseph Collier, and his sister Marie Reece. He is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Gribbins (Larry) and Pat Upchurch (Wayne). He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Chris Rust, Larry Gribbins, Tiffiany Downey, Michael Upchurch, and Laci Parker (Zackary); and his ten great-grandchildren: Jacob Barker, Kage Hancock, Brooklyn Downey, Katelyn and Kyzick Rust, Jeremy and Mason Upchurch, and Tristyn, Canaan, and Eason Parker. He leaves behind a great legacy and will be missed by them all.
Mr. Collier served in the United States Army, he was a longtime coach of the Madison Little League, Madison Babe Ruth, and Umpire for Metro Parks. He also retired from Jersey Farms Milk and Odom’s Tennessee Pride Sausage.
A visitation will be held for Mr. Collier at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Monday, August 12, 2019 from 4-8pm, and again on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 1-3pm with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service beginning at 3pm. Brent Hall is to officiate. Entombment in the Serenity Chapel Mausoleum in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery is to follow.
