Fannie Belle Cooper Jones Goodwin, age 89, of Nashville, passed away at her home on Saturday, October 14, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Eula Cooper; husbands, Oliver B. Jones and George R. Goodwin; two brothers, John Cooper, Alton Cooper Sr; one sister, Florene Cooper Taylor; sister-in-laws, Lucy Cooper and Eleanor Lemmons; beloved nephew, Alton Thomas Cooper Jr. “Tommy”. Fannie worked for Castner Knott for 43 years, mostly at the Donelson location in Piece Goods and Notions. A woman who literally came home from school, got her shotgun and killed supper for her family. A woman who had no children of her own but was a Mother to every young life she touched. A woman whose home built in 1963 still has all the original appliances in her home in perfect condition. A woman who cooked the most amazing meals only because she put her finger in the recipe while cooking (those are her own words) A woman who is incredibly loved and will be missed by all those who knew her. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Mary Groves, Beverly Williams and Jean Bishop for their care and compassion over the years. Visitation for Fannie will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 11 am until 2 pm, at which time a Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted from the Chapel at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, A Nashville Landmark since 1785 “Where Nashville Comes to Remember”
