Forrest Morgan Sr., Age 86, of Nashville, TN died on June 9, 2020 in Goodlettesville, TN. He was born on July 22, 1933 in Nashville, TN the son of Walter and Hazel (McElhiney) Morgan both of whom preceded him in death.
Forrest was employed by The Banner Newspaper for 44 years where he worked as a Newspaper Composer. He enjoyed playing golf in his free time and enjoyed watching any SEC sports especially Vanderbilt. He was also a member of the Masons for over 50 years here in Nashville. Forrest was a very charitable man, always donating to different children’s hospitals in the area and giving what he could. He was a very loving and lovable man; he was very family oriented and would do anything at the drop of a hat if you needed him. Forrest will be greatly missed by his family, friends and anyone else who knew him.
He is survived by his children Deborah Massa (Darrell), Forrest Morgan Jr. (Glenda); his sister Beulah Shumate; grandchildren Matt Morgan (Ashley) and Jessica Massa (Adam); great-grandchildren Aurora McCumbers, Thea McCumbers, Isaac Morgan; step-grandchildren Kimberly Ray (Derrick), Debbie Dilleha (Jason), Trey Elmore (Vickie); step-great-grandchildren Dalton Elmore, Dominick Dilleha and Dane Hurley.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Morgan; sisters Helen Snell and Elizabeth Morris; brother Walter Morgan Jr. He was also preceded in death by his stepdaughter Carol Watson.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 12, 2020 at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery at 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216 from 12-2 PM. Forrest’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Spring Hill Funeral Home with burial in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
