Frances L. Gilley's Obituary
To Lisa, Larry, and Bobby, Mom was the steady heart of every day, and to her grandsons Jimmy and Timmy, 7 great grandchildren, and 6 great, great grandchildren, she was simply GG. Her calm voice and honest words guided each of us, and her loyal spirit held the family close.
Born in Smithville, TN, Frances grew up learning the value of hard work from an early age. She carried those lessons into every season of her life, never losing sight of her deep love for God and family.
Frances built a long career as a beautician and proudly owned her own salon for many years. She worked with care and skill, supporting her loved ones through every high and low.
At home she found joy in the flower garden, especially when red wave petunias matched the flag on her front porch. Arranging blooms and placing them around the house made her smile, and everything stayed neat because Frances liked things just right.
Her favorite color was pink, and her heart was just as bright. Kind, responsible, honest, hardworking, and loyal, she encouraged everyone to see the best in themselves.
Holidays, especially Christmas, lit up her year, and she made each birthday feel like a small festival of love. Arts and crafts, along with any chance to be outdoors, filled her quiet moments with simple fun.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gilley, Timmy Gilley, Chance Gilley, Matthew Gilley, Shawn Ashworth, Shane Ashworth.
Frances leaves us from Nashville, TN, and we picture her welcomed by her parents, Charlie Vanatta and Rosie Parthena Vanatta. We will carry her lessons, her laughter, and her steady love as we move forward, grateful for every day shared with her.
