Mrs. Frances Bruce Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Mai Frances Bruce Smith, 87, widow of Earl F. Smith, Sr. and a resident of Joelton, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at NHC/ Springfield.
The Nashville native was the daughter of the late John Allen and Julia Norris Nunley Bruce. She was a homemaker, sitter and a member of the Whites Creek Church of Christ. She enjoyed trips to Florida, reading her Bible and cooking. Mrs. Smith’s life was all about children, helping others and her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Melody (Charles) Spillers; three sons, Earl Forrest Smith, Jr., Rayburn Michael (Teresa) Smith and Donald Wayne (Judy) Smith; a sister, Dorothy Watson; nine grandchildren, Steve (Jennifer) Spillers, Jason (Bonnie) Spillers, Shelley (Todd) Parker, Ginger Smith, Don Smith, Troy (Whitney) Smith, Earl F. Smith, III, Tamara (Dave) Cahill and Julie Smith; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jennie Sue Ragland and Margaret Rivera; a brother, John Allen “Johnny” Bruce, Jr.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be conducted Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00AM at Spring Hill Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
