Mrs. Frances B. Thompson's Obituary
Frances B. Thompson, age 89, of Madison, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015. She was born August 23, 1926 in Franklin, TN to the late Ed and Forrest Byrd. Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Felix and Frank Byrd and sisters, Lucille Kirby and Christine Huffine. Frances was the valedictorian of Hume Fogg High School Class of 1944 and retired from Cutters Exchange where she worked as a secretary for many years. She is remembered by her family as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading a good book and also enjoyed cross stitching. Frances was also a devoted member of Madison Christian Church and Lockeland Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ralph F. Thompson, Sr.; son, Ralph F. Thompson, Jr. (Judy); daughter, Kathy E. Brown (Johnel); grandchildren, Rebecca Eakes (Kevin), Christopher Brown (Lisa), Sarah Broome (Justin), Laura Thompson and Cody Brown; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Brown, Ivan Eakes, Josephine Broome, Janelle Brown, Simon Eakes, Rainey Woods and Florence Broome; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 -8 p.m. and Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Minister Tim Baines officiating assisted by Ralph F. Thompson, Jr. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org/tennessee.
