Mr. Francis Neal Rice's Obituary
Mr. Francis Neal Rice, of Hendersonville, age 88, passed away Tuesday, March 18th, 2014. Neal was born December 16th, 1925 in Sardis, TN to William Homer and Mary Moffett Rice. He served in the United States Army as a combat infantry soldier in Central Europe earning a Bronze Star. Neal was the Director of Civilian Schools in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He was a devoted family man-a proud and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Neal was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Smith Rice and his son Dr. Ron Rice. He is survived by daughter-in-law Pam Rice and grandsons Rev. Bradley Neal Rice (Alissa) and Capt. William Tyler Rice (Danielle). A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at 1:00 pm with a visitation an hour prior. Entombment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery’s Serenity Mausoleum with military honors. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Companions, Neal's Sunday School class at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hendersonville First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
