I remember my friend Fred during our younger days when we worked distributing Amway products out of Charlotte NC. My most precious memory was when he came to sing at my Dads Funeral at my request! (The King is Coming) We were Blessed to be back in touch about 20 years ago while I was visiting Nashville! I enjoyed catching up after such a long time! Will miss my friend from long ago! BJ Dye
I am sorry that I just learned of Fred's passing. I have many fond memories of when we played together in Soul Culture and our times in Erwin. Although I do not know his family, I do send my prayers for God's healing.

God bless you Ernie and all your children and grandchildren. I'll always remember and cherish my "Uncle" Freddy's stories, friendship and music. I was always proud to play with and for him. I was especially tickled when he would tell folks that he was my "real" daddy because Darrell didn't have that kind of talent. All my sympathy and condolences and with all my love.

Ernie and all the family...Brenda & I can't express enough on how very sad we are to hear of Fred's passing. He was not only a great man and Christian mentor..but he was a very close buddy of ours as you know and of course a pickin' buddy to me!
