Mr. Frederick H. Frincke's Obituary
Frederick Harold Frincke, age 89, of Brentwood, passed away on November 7, 2014 after a valiant fight against dementia. Fred was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on February 13, 1925 to the late Otto and Ella Frincke.
Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered as a kind man, who never had a cross word to say about anyone. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and received medals and commendations for his service. Those medals were saved in a book that, even in his later years, Fred would share with pride.
Fred was a smart and detailed man. After receiving a degree in Engineering, Fred worked for General Motors for 44 years and was a part of the team that designed the first Corvette engine. Fred had a fun-loving side, too. He loved music, particularly Frank Sinatra and The Beatles. As a former Sunday School teacher and the son of a preacher, Fred’s faith was very important to him, and he loved many Christian songs. He also enjoyed boating on the lake and watching air shows.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by all ten of his siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, June Frincke; daughter, Linde (Darryl) Myers; step-son, Gary (Josie) Cass; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jeff) Young and Chase (Angela) Myers, Brad Cass, and Julie (Matt) Summrack; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Cass, Joey Cass, Carter Myers, Jaymes Young, and Christian Myers; as well as his loving nephew, Donn Frincke, and other loving nieces and nephews. From his first marriage, Fred was preceded in death by his son, Richard C. Frincke, and is survived by sons, Michael W. Frincke and Gary G. Frincke, and daughter, Janice L. Jonasson.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Fred will take place at 3pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends the same day, from 1pm until the time of service. Fred will be entombed at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan with military honors on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 1pm, with visitation one hour prior in the Chapel of Resurrection Cemetery.
