Mr. Freed Donald Goodwin's Obituary
Freed Donald Goodwin, age 86 of Nashville, TN passed away on August 8, 2013. Mr. Goodwin was born on April 8, 1927 in Dickson, TN to Zachariah and Nora Foster Goodwin.
He will be remembered for his work ethic, honesty and integrity and his love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-children, Johnny and Sharon Todd; and brothers, Bill, Dean and Ralph Goodwin.
He is survived by his daughters, Freida Elrod, Frances Denton and Jackie Gillahan; grandchildren, Keith, Ronnie, Deborah, Dewayne, Carolyn, Robert, Shane, Angela, Marty Ray, Kristie, Joy and Jonathan; and 27 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Mr. Goodwin’s life will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 15, 2013 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Jonathan Denton officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery with Robert, Shane, Cole and Steven Elrod, Austin King, Troy Appleton and Alex Tune serving as pallbearers. Marty Ray Gillahan will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 and from 10 A.M. until 10:45 A.M., Thursday at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
