Freida McMurtry's Obituary
Mrs. Freida Mai Harvey McMurtry age 88 passed away December 2, 2024. She was born July 8, 1936 in Nashville, TN to the late Fred and Vennie Harvey.
Along with her parents, Freida was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby McMurtry; children, Jack, James and Lisa McMurtry, her sister Judy Parrish and brother Hugh Harvey.
Freida is survived by her sisters Jeanie Burns and Jan Wiles, grandchildren, Kristi (Daniel) Sanders, Katie (William) McMahan, Taylor (Mattie) McMurtry, Rachael McMurtry, Kinsey McMurtry and Caitlin McMurtry.
Freida loved her family and spent her life caring for others. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Hawaii being her favorite spot, and shopping and eating out with family and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time sipping on her Sprite Zero while watching soap operas with her beloved dog Charlie by her side. She loved listening to the "oldies" with Elvis at the top of her list. Her cow collectibles became the center of attention and were always a topic of conversation at family gatherings. She was a joy to be around and will truly be missed.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, December 12th, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Spring Hill Memorial Gardens, 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Freida's life.
