Gary Dwayne Fitts, 59, of Madison, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at his home. Born March 1, 1964 in Nashville, he was the son of Paul Douglas Fitts and the late Martha Cecelia Davidson Fitts
‘Dozer’ could light up any room he walked in to. He was the type of guy who would not only give you the shirt off of his back, but he would help you put it on too. He was a walking library of movie and song quotes. ‘Big D’ was a lifelong fan of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, WWE, and NASCAR (especially of Dale, Jr and the late Dale, Sr).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Fitts and his wife Sue Fitts.
He is survived by his father, Paul Douglas Fitts; daughter Michelle (Ray) Webb; sister Michelle Fitts; granddaughter Breanna (Jacob) Webb; nieces Ashley Abbott and Amber Tucker; his trusty companion, Max; and a host of extended family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, from 4 pm until 8 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Gary’s Life will take place on Friday, July 7 at 2 pm with burial following alongside his wife in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will accept friends and visitors from 12 pm noon until the start of the funeral on Friday.
