Gary Lewis Summers' Obituary
SUMMERS, Gary Lewis, Age 69 of Nashville,TN passed away Friday July 17, 2009. He is survived by his wife Simone Tyan Rogers Summers; children, Scott Lewis Summers, Jennifer Nicole Summers Clark (Phillip Sr.), Kirk Lewis Summers (Teresa), Carrie Summers; grandchildren, Merissa Clark, Phillip Clark Jr., Brittany Magness, Shawn Summers, Sheryl Summers, Stacey Summers, Shannah Summers; great grandchild, Kaylee Lafferty. He is preceded in death by his daughter Sonya Magness and her husband Jimmy. Mr. Summers was devoted to the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Police Department where he worked for 27 years. He began when it was known as Nashville Police Department and retired after being shot in the line of duty while working a bank robbery. He will forever be remembered for his love and honor of being a police officer. Funeral services will be Tuesday July 21, 2009 at 2PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday from Noon until 8PM and on Tuesday from 10 until service time at 2. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
