Geneva Gertrude Carter, 95, of Ashland City, Tennessee, sadly passed away on February 27, 2025. She was born on February 28, 1929, to the late John Edwards and Dovie Manning Edwards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wesley Frank Carter; her daughters, Deborah Susan Carter and Nancy Faye Carter; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and 8 brothers and sisters.
Geneva is survived by her sons, James (Rita) Carter, Danny (Terry) Carter, and Ken Carter; 5 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Geneva was truly a jack of all trades. She had a love for flower arranging. No matter what the flower was, she had a way of making it into a beautiful piece. She had a green thumb and could garden whatever her heart desired. She loved to cook. She could cook anything that she put her mind to. She loved hummingbirds and made sure that her sons hung the feeders up whenever the time came. When she was younger, she was an active member of the Smith Springs Church of Christ and later, Burnett Chapel Church of Christ. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a visitation, March 4, 2025, from 4 o’clock in the afternoon until 8 o’clock in the evening. There will be another visitation March 5, 2025, from 11 o’clock in the morning until the time of service. The church service will be conducted at 12 o’clock in the Spring Hill Chapel. Burial will follow immediately after in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
