Georganna and I worked together for many years at the State of Tennessee in the Insurance Administration Division of Finance & Administration administering insurance appeals for State employees.

Georganna was a true treasure and a "detailed" person and always wanted everything perfect in preparation for the monthly appeals meetings. I could always count on her to keep me "on task" and ready for those stressful meetings!

Some might have called her excentric, but we had a special bond, worked closely and well together, and I still think of her to this day, some nearly 30 years later because she impacted my life as a dear coworker and friend at the State of Tennessee.

in honor of Georganna.

Georganna and I worked together before she retired from the State of Tennessee. She was a treasure! Smart, dedicated, hardworking and funny. We couldn't know what she might say or do at any time, but those things are now the basis for many fond memories. Personally, I recall her helping set up the meeting room for monthly appeals meetings and taking great care with typing up meeting minutes. Once, as we were arranging tables and chairs in the meeting space with Bill Thornbury, Georganna commented on how ugly the chairs were (picture a loud seventies pattern in orange and yellow or something similar sticking out like a sore thumb 30 years later). Bill said with a very serious face that he had the same chairs in his kitchen. Georganna was still apologizing when Bill started to grin and admitted he was only joking. We all had a good laugh at that and many other things during our time together. I also remember Georganna's thoughtfulness. When we were at work and expecting snow, Georganna would make plans to reserve a room and stay downtown to avoid travel. On those occasions, she would come to my cubicle and suggest I do the same. At the time, I declined the suggestion, but I did appreciate her thinking of my well-being. Those, like me, who had the privilege to know Georganna will not soon forget her.

Georganna was the first person to ask me to sit with her at church in Virginia. We enjoyed friendship and fellowship over the years. She was a maid of honor at my wedding. We took trips and a cruise together. She was steadfast in her Christian faith. I have many good memories of Georganna and will miss her very much. Mary Leonard Hallman
