Mr. George W. Burton Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. George W. Burton, Jr., 94, a resident of Madison, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Hospice at Skyline.
The Putnam County native was the son of the late George W., Sr. and Dora Maynard Burton. He was previously married to Bonnie A. Burton, the mother of his children. For many years he was a truck driver for TVA and attended the Riverside Church of Christ. He proudly served our country in the United States Army.
He is survived by a daughter, Cathey (Rucker) Chunn; a son, Gary Burton; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Stacy; five great grandchildren, Kayla, Haley, Noah, Jack, and Gracie.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11:00AM at Spring Hill Funeral Home with his son-in-law, Rev. Rucker Chunn officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00AM until service time on that Saturday. Inurnment will be in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Gideons International. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery.
