Mr. George Winifred Newsom's Obituary
George Winifred Newsom, age 80, of Madison, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lavenda and Susie Newsom and one grandson, Justin Wade Cagle Sr. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna Newsom; two daughters, Angie Newsom Riggins, Kathey Koudelka (Fred); four grandchildren, Bret Cagle, Alex Cagle, Charlie Koudelka, Ben Koudelka; four great-grandchildren, Justin Wade Cagle Jr., Kobeyon Cagle, Keiyon Cagle, Skyla Turner. George served many family’s throughout Middle Tennessee in the funeral business as a family service counselor. Outside of his professional career he enjoyed sports, watching baseball and the Nashville Predators, crossword puzzles, reading, game shows, trips to the casino and trips every fall to Chattanooga to see the fall colors and the mountains. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Visitation for George will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 4 PM until 8 PM. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted from the chapel at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee, 37216 on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee. Arrangements by Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery.
