Mr. George Grant Pennock's Obituary
Mr. George Grant Pennock, 79, well-known Church of Christ minister, died Tuesday at his residence in Madison.
The Winnipeg, Canada native was the son of the late Gordon Joseph and Helen Rose Rea Pennock. He served 60 years as a minister in several states including Nigeria. He was a current member of the Riverside Drive Church of Christ. From 1987 on he held a Sunday morning service at Pennington Place in Hendersonville. He was an avid reader, history buff, and loved western novels. Having come from Canada he played hockey and followed their teams.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Leader Pennock; three daughters, Katherine Pennock, Rebecca (Michael) Ratajczak, and Dede (Doyle) Dunn; a sister, Joanie (Carl) Goad; a brother, Walter Robert (Yoko) Pennock; 3 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rose Riffle and Lorna Caskey; a brother, Rea Pennock; brother-in-law, Burton Riffle; sister-in-law, Toni Pennock; nephew, Darryl Pennock.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 5, 2014 at 2:00PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home with his brother-in-law, Carl Goad officiating. Entombment will be in the Historic Spring Hill Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 2:00 until 5:00PM and Monday from 1:00 until service time at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery.
