George H. Wingett's Obituary
George H. Wingett, 89, passed away on April 13th, 2024, in Madison, Tennessee. He was born in Nashville to Hugh Henry Wingett, Sr. and Ruth Dickerson Wingett on May 6th, 1934.
George was a devoted husband, sharing 60 years of marriage with his late wife, Joanne, who passed away on March 6th, 2024. Their enduring love and companionship were an inspiration to all who knew them.
A faithful member of the Madison Church of Christ, George found solace and strength in his faith. His commitment to serving others was evident through his active involvement in church activities and outreach programs.
George’s professional journey led him to a successful career as a commercial real estate appraiser. He retired from James L. Harper and Associates, leaving a lasting impact on the industry. His dedication, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail were admired by colleagues and clients alike.
Educated at Tennessee Technical College, George earned a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology. His passion for learning and problem-solving fueled his professional growth and contributed to his reputation as a trusted expert in his field.
George H. Wingett leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love, resilience, and service. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents Hugh Sr. and Ruth, George is preceded in death by his loving wife Joanne and sister Anne Almand. He is survived by his brothers David Wingett and Hugh Wingett, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of beloved family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, from one o’clock in the afternoon until the time of the funeral service at two o’clock in the afternoon, with burial to follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216.
Final arrangements for Mr. Wingett are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, “Where Nashville Comes to Remember.”
