Mr. Gerald Edward Smith's Obituary
Gerald Edward Smith, age 78 of Mt. Juliet, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015. He was born September 19, 1936 in Nashville, TN. He had a long career in the automobile business and was employed by E. B. Smith for over 20 years. He was a devoted christian and a member of Green Hill Church in Mt. Juliet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Marshall Link Smith. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shirley Smith; sons, Terry (Jan) Smith, Kerry Harper and Keith Harper; daughters, Sandy (Scott) Tygard, Judy Jones, Brandy (Michael) Hamilton and Kim Collins; brother, Harold Sircy, Jr.; sister Joyce ( Darell) Richardson; grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Chase Jones, Rachel Smith Parkinson, Chandler Tygard, William Gerald Smith, Katie Tygard, Tiffany Davis, Shane Jones, Shawn Jones, Stephanie Harper, Shelby Harper and Lauren Hamilton; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter on the way.
His family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, August 3 and from 11 a.m. until his Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4 at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Daryl Crouch of Green Hill Church, Mt. Juliet ,TN. Interment will be in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
