Ms. Geraldine "Jerry" Marie Jones' Obituary
Geraldine “Jerry” Marie Jones was born on February 14, 1942 to Gerald and Marie Farris in Nashville, Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mitchell Farris. She is survived by her son, Ronnie (Leah) Jones, grandchildren Lauren Keyes, Erin Jones, and Elisha (Brandon) Woodall. She is also survived by her sister, MaryAnn Graves.
Jerry’s photo could be found in the dictionary next to the term “Spitfire.” She had an affinity for bright nails, teal eyeliner, and the Playboy Bunny emblem. She loved her great grandbabies (Bennett, Mallory, and Madilynn), and they loved her in return.
Jerry had a love for animals - she fed her Shitzhu, Chewie, with a fork, and back in the 70s, she domesticated a raccoon (which she’d named Herbie and would dress in children’s clothes).
Jerry liked to spend Sundays watching NASCAR with Ronnie, and always made sure she kept up with the John Force drag race schedule. She loved old Westerns on Grit TV, and Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel. Her music taste ranged from disco, to Madonna, to bluegrass.
She always sparkled, adorned in costume jewelry and big sunglasses. She always smelled like Hawaiian Ginger, and was very particular about the way her hair was teased.
Jerry had bright eyes, a smart mouth, and a big heart. There is a hole in the hearts of everyone that knew her.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 5 from 2:00 pm until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 pm held at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road in Nashville. The service will be officiated by Dr. Ashley Mofield.
