Mr. Gerard F. Vinett's Obituary
Gerard F. Vinett, Sr. July 4, 1930 to September 21, 2016
Jerry was a loving husband to his one and only love, Beth; a love that burned bright for 62 years. He was a proud father to his seven children, Bill (Gail), Kevin, Jerry Jr., Deidre, Renee (Michael), Arthur (Kim), James (James), and grandfather to his thirteen grandchildren, Elizabeth, Dory, Erin, Megan, Aubrie, Ryan, John-Michael, Gerard F. III (Trey), Loren, Sean, Reid, Dane, Heath, and thirteen great-grandchildren, Harrison, Houston, Adalynne, Hamilton, Mary Cathlin, Hudson, Patrick, Charlotte, Rory, Gabriel, Donovan, Silas and Sydney.
Jerry had a genuine warmth and interest in others. Their stories, their successes, their heartaches. He had a quiet and selfless generosity of spirit that endeared him to many.
His life was centered by his faith. Through the lens of his Catholicism, he was given clarity of conviction and purpose. Taking comfort in his love of Christ and confident of his salvation, he left this world surrounded by family with the knowledge that he would be reunited with them in heaven.
Jerry was a band leader and clarinetist extraordinaire. Man, could he play! Other than his family, nothing gave Jerry more joy than his music and the friendship of his fellow musicians.
